University of Illinois departments can hire Huffman Electric Inc. in three ways to complete their electrical projects. Please call if you need help or have questions with the process.
1. Departments can hire Huffman Electric Inc. direct through Facilities and Services web site.
Follow these steps:
A. Use web site www.fs.uiuc.edu
B. Click on Construction Management Division
C. Click on Construction Services Request System
D. Put in your user name and password
E. Fill in the form with your project — We can help with electrical information needed
F. Select Huffman Electric Inc. as your electrical contractor
G. Submit your form
You will receive a Permit number so that we can do the work. You will need to notify Huffman Electric Inc. when you receive your Permit number before work can proceed.
Did you know that University Departments are allowed to spend up to $35,000.00 per electrical project?
2. Departments that are doing a project through Facilities and Services project Engineer can request that Huffman Electric Inc. perform the electrical work.
You will need to specify that Huffman Electric Inc. do the work. The electrical work of a Facilities and Services project can also spend up to $35,000.00.
3. Larger projects that are under $250,000.00 can be performed through Job Order Contracting (JOC).
Nogle and Black Mechanical, Inc is the current University JOC contractor. Contact Facilities and Services through their web site or Nogle and Black Mechanical, Inc. at (217) 265-5366. The size of the electrical job is limited only by the total cost of the project.
Departments will need to request Huffman Electric Inc. to perform the electrical work.
